Conservation Commission · Meeting of October 22, 2026

Waltham's Conservation Commission unanimously approved removing a problem-prone trench drain at 590 Lincoln Street and let an Algonquin Gas project absorb pipe-size changes without a new filing. Chair William Doyle and members Mike Donovan, Anja Shafer and Frank Fitzgerald voted 4-0 on both items; Vice Chair Lisa Limonciello was absent. Engineer Anthony Donato said the existing drain "keeps getting hit by plows" and has damaged a vehicle's undercarriage.

Conservation Agent Julia Abbott reported construction debris, including mulch and gravel, had spread from a for-sale property at 44 Shore Road onto city land near Hardy Pond, with the owner identified as Caribbean Realty Investments LLC. Doyle warned an enforcement order could "cloud the deed pretty quick" if the debris is not removed. Staff also flagged an October 30 deadline to weigh in on a Charles River Watershed Association letter about sewer overflows into the Charles.
