Commission closes three bar incident files

License Commission · Meeting of August 26, 2026

WALTHAM — The Waltham License Commission closed out three bar-related police incident reports without penalty and approved a liquor license transfer for Treetop Thai Cuisine. Commissioner Kenneth W. Sumner said of a City Streets protective-custody case, "I think, again, they did the right thing at this point," after manager Daniel Connors described cutting off a second drink before the woman was removed. Commissioners also reviewed a June 4 Jocko's assault and a July 2 Shoppers Cafe medical fall tied to four vodka drinks, voting unanimously each time to dispose of the matters.

The board approved transferring Treetop Thai Cuisine's common victualer license at 53 Prospect Street to a new LLC after an uncontested hearing, signed off on a manager change at VFW Post 10334 naming Robert Joyce, and granted permits for Bentley University events, two Payne Estate weddings, a Gore Place Revels reception and recurring Dion's wine-education classes.
