Board of Survey and Planning · Meeting of October 7, 2026

Waltham's Board of Survey and Planning voted 4-2 to recommend denying a zoning overlay extension on Felton Street, while inviting a revised filing. Attorney Connors, representing petitioner Union Avenue LLC, said the petition would extend the Riverfront Overlay District over a residentially zoned rear portion of a 30,321-square-foot lot that has been in common ownership since 1952, without changing its underlying zoning. Board member Maroney objected that the move created a "loophole" and warned other Noonan Street owners would seek the same treatment, saying "I really have a problem with that." Board member Torello added that the area is heavily residential and should stay livable for families.

The board also unanimously denied an approval-not-required plan for 103 Clock Lane after no applicant representative appeared and engineering comments went unaddressed, and approved minutes from its June 3 and June 10 meetings.
