Zoning Board of Appeals · Meeting of March 17, 2026
Waltham's Zoning Board of Appeals unanimously approved two residential variances. Petitioners Christina C. Chaves and Dinis Chaves won approval to demolish and reconstruct a home at 43 Hibiscus Avenue, a property with unusual history as a former 1928 garage converted to a dwelling in 1950, now on a 2,070-square-foot lot; relief included setbacks of 10 and 12 feet instead of required 25 and 30 feet, and lot coverage of 33.8 percent instead of 25 percent.
Branden and Margret Roumanis gained relief to build a 2.5-story home at 103 Clark Lane with setbacks of 19.3 and 20.4 feet instead of required 40 feet. Both approvals passed 5-0 with voting members Stephen Taranto, Glenna Gelineau, Matthew Deveaux, Joseph Attardo, and Mark A. Hickernell.
