WALTHAM — The Zoning Board of Appeals voted unanimously to grant a setback variance for a sunroom addition at 24 Rando Lane. Kevin Kieler, representing homeowners Richard and Maria Iannetti, sought to reduce the rear yard setback from 40 feet to 38.3 feet for a prefabricated sunroom and deck. The property's odd shape constituted the hardship basis.
Chair John Sergi and members Mark Hickernell, Joseph Attardo, Sarah Hankins, and Stephen Taranto voted 5-0 to grant the variance. Permits must be issued within one year; construction must be completed within two years.
