Zoning Board of Appeals · Meeting of April 28, 2026

Waltham's Zoning Board of Appeals approved the City's comprehensive permit for two affordable housing units. Mayor Jeannette McCarthy sought the Chapter 40B permit for Cardinal Cottage, 282 Trapelo Road, a historic 1850-era building in the Conservation/Recreation Zoning District; units will serve households with incomes up to 80 percent of Area Median Income. The board voted 5-0 to adopt the findings of fact and decision, granting the permit.

The board also voted 4-1 to approve a residential variance at 32 Maple Street, unanimously approved amended plans at 76 Bacon Street, and voted 3-2 (after executive session) on a development decision for 455 Totten Pond Road.
