WALTHAM — The Zoning Board of Appeals extended a 40B comprehensive permit hearing to April 14 with major disputes unresolved. Chair John Sergi, Mark A. Hickernell, Matthew Deveaux, Glenna Gelineau, and Stephen Taranto voted unanimously to extend the case decision deadline to April 15.

Assistant City Solicitor Michelle Learned called sewer capacity the city's "highest priority," citing potential $1,000 per day fines if the development overflows a system already at 85-90 percent capacity. The board directed Learned to coordinate with the developer on $1-2 million in unresolved sidewalk mitigations and pressed for higher affordable housing percentages.
