Waltham ordinances panel tables hotel permit, zoning overlays, camera resolution

WALTHAM — The Waltham Ordinances and Rules Committee tabled a 42-room hotel application and three related zoning amendments at its March 16 meeting. The 220 Moody Street project, presented by petitioner Michael Columba and architects Paul Finger and Mike Wolfson, includes a 350-person function room and restaurant with Moody Street-only parking access. The committee released town counsel's legal opinion to the petitioner and requested the mayor discuss the easement at a subsequent meeting.
The panel also tabled three RCI Limited Overlay District zoning amendments pending mayoral input on development agreements and unanimously appointed Councillors Harris and Logan to represent it in a comprehensive zoning resolution review. The committee voted to release a legal memo on a Flock Camera Resolution and scheduled Police Chief attendance for April 21st.
