Waltham City Council approves $2.5M deficit appropriation and takes action on delayed projects. All fifteen members voted unanimously to address the January 2026 deficit and allocate funding for Department of Public Works snow overtime and general expenses. The council also cleared two previously tabled loan authorizations: $771,600 for DPW relocation design services at 200 Trapelo Road and $940,000 for Howe Building pool interior design at the same location.
The council additionally approved $70,000 for skating rink operating expenses, a $33,295.36 state aging grant for the Council on Aging, and $9,665 for city clerk technology upgrades. Council Rule 77 was amended to move regular meeting start time from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. and shift the annual organizational meeting from the third Monday in January to the first Monday in March.
