Traffic Commission approves stop sign on Sherwood Lane, adjusts commercial vehicle rules
Traffic Commission · Meeting of April 16, 2026
Waltham Traffic Commission approves stop sign and commercial vehicle rules on April 16. The Commission unanimously voted to install a STOP sign at Sherwood Lane and Temple Road and reduced the maximum commercial vehicle length from 24 feet to 20 feet after Councillor Robert Logan raised concerns that the former threshold would classify standard pickup trucks as violations. The Commission also directed Traffic Engineer Mr.
Garvin to survey South Side streets to quantify parking space loss from proposed 5-foot or 2-foot driveway buffer restrictions requested by Councillor Logan. Traffic signal inventories were modified at School Street and Common Street and at Moody Street, Carter Street, and Felton Street, with the Commission voting to remove a crosswalk, add pedestrian signal heads, and adjust timings and walk times respectively.
