Waltham Ordinances & Rules Committee scheduled a joint public hearing with the Board of Survey and Planning for May 11, 2026 on the RCI One zoning amendment, compressing the review timeline to meet a July 1 project start date for the Green Street development. The committee, with Chair Councillor Harris and members Councillors Dunn, Logan, and Hanley, also approved a requirement that the Mayor, petitioners, and Law Department attend all committee meetings through June 22, when second and third readings of the zoning amendments must be completed. Petitioner representatives Keir Evans, Chriss Carr, and Jim Ward attended to present the accelerated schedule.
The committee tabled five additional matters including affordable housing and pet grooming zoning amendments, a leaf blowing ordinance amendment, and two council rules resolutions.
