WALTHAM — Finance Committee approves $85,339.91 in appropriations and emergency funding. The panel, led by Chairman Councillor Katz, accepted a $3,500 FY2024-FY2026 MA Telecommunicator Emergency Response Task Force grant for the Police Department and approved a $50,000 supplement to the Police Department's medical services account — which has already exhausted its original $100,000 FY2026 allocation due to officer injuries. Police Chief O'Connell cited the account's volatility.
The committee also approved a $35,339.91 appropriation for Disability Services Commission handicap projects, including $20,000 for police details, $10,000 for scholarships, $2,339.92 for aquatic wheelchairs, and $2,999.99 for an adult changing table.
