Finance Committee approves $64,950 in budget transfers for facilities work.
Finance Committee · Meeting of April 21, 2026
WALTHAM — Finance Committee approves $64,950 in paired budget transfers for facilities. The committee adopted two transfers: $44,950 from Building Full-Time Wages to fund paving at the 92 Felton Street property, and $20,000 from Housing Salaries to cover increased maintenance costs at Hardy Residences, including electricity, snow plowing, and pest treatments. Councillors LaFauci and LeBlanc raised concerns that Bentley University, the tenant at Felton Street, should absorb the paving cost; both councillors also flagged the broader burden of city resources consumed by the university while parcels are tax-exempt.
Councillor Durkee was elected Chair pro-tem in the absence of regular Chair Councillor Katz.
