Finance Committee approves $2.5M snow removal appropriation and technology transfers

Waltham Finance Committee approves $2.5M snow removal appropriation after 14 events and 41.7 inches. The appropriation, drawn from unreserved fund balance, allocates $650,000 for overtime and $1.85 million for general snow expenses, with approximately $1.1 million already spent on salt as of February 10. CPW Director Michael Chiasson reported the original snow budget was $1.4 million.

The Committee also approved a $9,665 technology transfer for the City Clerk's Office, a $1,851 Emergency Management transfer for SCBA equipment, a $70,000 Veterans' Memorial Rink appropriation for hot water tank replacement, and accepted a $33,295.36 state grant from the Executive Office of Aging and Independence with no required local match.
