WALTHAM — Economic and Community Development Committee approves Year 52 block grant and defers business resolution. Planning Director Robert J. Waters, Jr. highlighted renovation funding for the Boys and Girls Club as the year's major change, and the committee approved the block grant by voice vote.
Assessor Francis P. Craig presented office vacancy data, prompting the committee to approve three requests: written commercial property updates from Craig, inclusion of a Part Time Economic Development Manager in Mayor Jeannette McCarthy's FY26 Budget, and job description comparisons from Watertown, Burlington, Medford, Malden, and Cambridge. The Resolution to Strengthen Business Development in Waltham was tabled pending receipt of the comparative municipal job descriptions.
