WALTHAM — Licenses and Franchises Committee approved an Eversource underground service grant at 195 Bear Hill Road. The committee voted to approve the grant of location to support an Extra Space expansion project, with underground service running along the sidewalk only. Councillor Brasco moved approval of the utility service grant.

The committee also approved a secondhand dealers renewal at 471 Main Street for the Tool Shed and tabled a lodging house renewal at 194 Adams Street. A proposal to name Northeast Elementary School after a long-time educator was referred to the School Committee and subsequently tabled pending their feedback, after Councillor Tzioumis noted that the Northeast community had expressed uncertainty about the renaming rationale.
