City Council approves police station design loan and school special education funding.

WALTHAM — City Council approves police station design loan and multiple capital improvements. The council authorized $10.5 million in borrowing for design and owner's project management services for a new police station at 155 Lexington Street. The Finance Committee recommendations approved $174,541 from the Unreserved Fund Balance to address a School Department deficit in Special Education Out of District Tuitions and Transportation, along with $217,157 for softball field improvements at Veterans Athletic Complex and $12,118 for Government Center heating system updates.

The council also approved a $36,063.04 grant from the Executive Office of Aging and Independence for the Council on Aging.
