City Council approves FY2027 budget request with $29,372 device purchase.

WALTHAM — City Council Committee of the Whole approves FY2027 budget request totaling $491,574. Vice-President LeBlanc presided over the meeting with all 15 members present. The Council approved a narrowly passed $29,372 allocation to purchase 15 SurfacePro devices for Council members on a roll call vote of 9 to 5, with Councillor Brasco opposing the purchase given each member's $300 monthly allowance.

The Council also voted 13 to 1 to hear a vendor proposal for Paine Estate management services, then voted 12 to 2 to file the matter, with Councillors Harris and LaFauci dissenting. IT Director Donnie Aucoin addressed the Council on ADA compliance for the city website.
