City Council approves $79M library renovation project cost estimate

WALTHAM — City Council approves $79.05 million library renovation project cost estimate. The council voted 13-0 to approve the maximum estimated project costs, with Councillors Hanley and King absent. Simultaneously, the Finance Committee secured two transfers: $44,950 for paving the parking lot at 92 Felton Street and $20,000 to supplement Housing Department expenses.

The council also unanimously approved a Restrictive Covenant for ADA upgrades at Beaverbrook Apartments and advanced for first reading a $1,450,000 loan authorization to purchase a high voltage substation for 200 Trapelo Road, though the measure was tabled on the Council Floor.
