Board of Health votes on tobacco violations, imposes fines

Waltham Board of Health imposes $1,000 tobacco fines on two retailers. On May 17, the board voted unanimously to fine Safe House Vapors and Blue Moon Smoke Shop each $1,000 for selling tobacco without verifying customer age. The board initially voted to suspend Safe House Vapors' permit for three days before the owner appeared to explain the violation; the board reconsidered and allowed the permit to remain active, requiring payment of the mandatory fine.
